A part of the community since 1952.

Since 1952, Schenectady ARC has been and still remains committed to helping people in the Capital Region enjoy healthy, rewarding lives as members of their community. Schenectady ARC brings staff, families and the community together to encourage dreams and respond to each person's life choices by offering high quality services, resources and supports.

We feel strongly that partnerships create the power for people with developmental disabilities to live, learn, work and play as fulfilled members of society.

As part of our mission and vision we foster partnerships with community organizations, local government, educational institutions and the private sector to enhance and promote our cause.

Volunteering in our community

Schenectady ARC volunteers can provide many benefits to community organizations. Volunteers with developmental disabilities receive countless benefits through these voluntary opportunities. Social inclusion, personal contribution, personal development, networking, and status are all very valuable to our volunteers.

When people with developmental disabilities are able to use their gifts and skills to help other people, they gain a fresh sense of independence and responsibility, which brings increased self-confidence and greater feelings of empowerment, satisfaction, and happiness.

We look forward to working with your organization. More information on Day Services and opportunities in the community click on the DAY SERVICES link.
